Here's how it all started.
While brothers Andrew and Joel, along side brother-in-law Mike, were providing small renovation construction services in the community they observed a need for uniquely designed projects. With passion of meeting this need, and knowledge to do so, the concept of 641 Homes was born.
641 Homes built their first home in 2004 and have been gaining momentum since. Andrew, Joel and Mike have a dedicated and caring team of 12 that consists of an Architect, Project Managers, Designers, and Builders that share their passion for modern homes.
This is where we're going.
Our vision is to offer our clients an unsurpassable personal building experience. In order to create your perfect modern home, we feel it is crucial to leave no idea untouched. With a commitment to provide our clients with a uniquely designed quality home that they will love for life.
The faces behind 641 Homes.
Andrew Vanden Berg
Andrew was born and raised in Winkler Manitoba and is a very family oriented man. He and his family spent two years in Papua New Guinea on a mission assignment. Andrew is married to Lisa with whom he has two young boys. Andrew enjoys fishing, camping and playing with his children. He is a self proclaimed perfectionist who is following in his father’s footsteps as a builder. With the experience he gained from owning PAD for eight years, and the experience prior to that, Andrew is more than qualified to oversee the construction and sub trades on his assigned projects. Andrew has a results oriented personality that ensures ethical business practices are followed. He can usually be found on-site building a house along with the other crew members. Andrew enjoys meeting with clients to walk through their house at various phases of construction, and listening to concerns that he will ensure are dealt with promptly. His favorite part of every project is sheeting the roof, installing garage doors, and building the stairs.
Joel Vanden Berg
Joel’s love for construction and building was fostered at an early age through spending time with his father (Peter) while working as a carpenter in Winkler Manitoba. He currently lives just outside of Winkler, and is married to Julie with whom he has four children. Joel’s love for family and travel takes him on mission trips every winter to many different countries. Joel also enjoys anything outside, including fishing and boating with his children. Within 641 Homes Joel enjoys getting to know his customers, and feels the more he can understand their wants and needs, the better he is able to to serve them. Through Joel’s passion to satisfy the customer, he works with the clients from start to finish. From the initial client meeting and floor plan ideas, to discussing details and changes throughout the project, to the final walk-through Joel will be with the client every step of the way. As in his personal life, Joel places great importance in relationship building at work. He feels in order to satisfy a client, good communication is key so he makes it his top priority.
Mike and wife Angeline have two young sons. They enjoy time together outdoors, building tree houses, tenting and canoe trips. Mike is also active in his local church worship team and enjoys cooking when he can and sipping fine wine around the campfire.
I moved back to Winkler and the “family yard” with my husband several years ago when our first son was born. For the 17 years before that, the longest I lived in any one location was 5 years. The Bronx, Savannah, San Diego, San Francisco and Winnipeg among the main stops. I love living in a city’s downtown and experiencing it on foot. The alternative for me is wide open spaces, the peace and sunsets are beautiful.
I have 10+ years of architectural experience ranging from programming & concept design through construction drawings, in high-end residential, commercial and public buildings. The most notable local public project is the new Northland Parkway Collegiate, that I got to work on as a team leader while employed with Prairie Architects. I have both my Bachelor and Master's degree in Architecture from Savannah College of Art and Design and I received my license to practice in April 2010.
Corner Architecture was birthed out of a need for a local architect. The passion of 641 Homes to create quality buildings that are unique and perfectly matched to the client, fits well with my own desire to bring others visions to life in a way that is both beautiful and sustainable. I look forward to meeting you at the design table!
